BBC objects to being branded ‘government-funded media’ on Twitter
The government has awarded a one-off payment of £20 million to the BBC World Service. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FDCO) is providing the World Service with flat cash funding of £283 million over the three-year spending review period, equating to £94.4 million annually.  FCDO will provide a further £1.44 million dedicated to countering disinformation emanating from the Kremlin with trusted and impartial content. The licence fee is set by government and approved by parliament,
Sounds like government funding to me.  Maybe it should be "partly government funded"

There will be no efforts to hold Clarence Thomas for his seeming conflicts of interest
Nobody has the political will or incentive to hold Mr Thomas accountable
The rich are almost never are held accountable.
