He is so right! The Americans forced European banks (and government agencies) to buy derivatives and credit-default-swaps at gun-point. They also required most European governments to spend more than they made for the past 30 years. It's ALWAYS someone else's fault.

Totally unacceptable - just because the NHS doesn't have enough money to buy something is no reason not to have it. Put it on the credit card - let our children and grandchildren pay for it.

Well, that's modern reporting: the people don't need to hear what the newsmaker has to say, they need to hear my opinions as a reporter. In fact, let's do away with newsmakers on the news altogether. We "reporters" can just interview each other in the usual way.”

"an analysis of more than 80 cases" out of 80 thousand. At this sampling rate, I'd suspect a large margin of error in any statistics.

Nevertheless, the study shows that tagging works as a method of triage; separating those who obey society's rules from the scoff-laws.

An interesting study would be to compare the sentencing authority's predictions of who will violate the tagging scheme. If they match the actual violators fairly well, then judicial discretion would be an even cheaper method of triage.

Fixing Citizens United
Okay, I accept that my 28th Amendment  [Whereas the election of representatives is the sole concern of those represented, no person (individual or corporate) may contribute to an election campaign if they are not resident in the election district.] would violate the 1st Amendment protection of free speech.

How about this law: All ads, flyers, mailers or other communication paid for, in whole or in part, by money from outside the election district must include the words "Paid for by money from outside of our election district"

“"U.S.-Funded Court" is a bit of a beat up. US-funded could be used to describe every governmental agency in the country. NATO-funded would be more accurate, but I suppose Joshua thinks his readership not bright enough to know what that means. Still, as a dumbed-down personal opinion piece, this is not bad. With a little training, he might make a journalist.
