A very wise decision. The Americans do not chlorinate their chickens any more (they use a different chemical - which probably won't be banned in our trade with the US - and which protects consumers without causing any harm) but "chlorinated chicken) is a emotional flash point for most of Britain's electorate. It is nice to be able to give the people something they think they need (whether it for health reasons or just to cock a snook at America) without changing the government's position on anything. Win Win.

How could he! It shows that he is not with the current mood, and if your are not with the current mood you have no business being anywhere. He doesn't understand: if we defund the police there will be a lot more money to bribe the people interested in social reform and the criminals will like it too (if the cops don't have any money, how can they catch me?)

Protesters Try to Pull Down Statue of Andrew Jackson in Washington
Okay, there shouldn't be statues to any President of the United States as they were all either racist or complicit in racism, including Barack Obama. Indeed, there should be no statues to any white people at all, nor should they feature on any money. That is the logical extension of these arguments. Either that or we should recognise that everybody is racist and just get on with it.

Along with Sir Isaac Newton, an investor in slavery, the statue of slave-owner Christopher Codrington in All Soul's College, any statues of Queen Victoria, the ardent colonialist, and Sir Winston Churchill.

WHITE RESIDENTS OF URBAN SANCTUARY COUNTIES ARE SAFER FROM DEADLY VIOLENCE THAN WHITE RESIDENTS IN NON-SANCTUARY COUNTIES
White residents were 26 percent less likely to die from illicit drug overdoses; 33 percent were less likely to die from all violent causes. Moreover, some 53 percent of white residents of those counties were less likely to be victims of homicide, and 62 percent less likely to die from gun violence than their white counterparts elsewhere.
The study by the San Francisco-based Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ) compared 2015 crime figures in 33 large central metropolitan counties where some form of sanctuary policies are in effect (including 12 who do not cooperate at all with federal immigration authorities)—representing over 50 million Americans—with 35 counties with no sanctuary policies, with some 40 million Americans
