I crossed the Channel last summer – and my family still don’t know if I am alive
They don't know if he is alive and he won't tell them because.....?
All he had to do was identify himself in this article and they would get the word. That, and his facility with English, convinces me that this is a made-up story. But at least - whoever made it up - gets the feeling of victimhood spot on.

How a Prosecutor Addressed a Mostly White Jury and Won a Conviction in the Arbery Case
Maybe she won it because the jury thought they were guilty as charged.
But I do like the speculation on the motives of people, especially when they count solely on interviewing others, and not the person in question.

5 Ways To Help Prevent Further Tragedy In The English Channel
1. Close dangerous routes, do not open other routes
2. Create safe access to asylum procedures in France and other European countries
3. Resettlement schemes are about right, having increased by 700% since 2000
4. Return humanitarian aid to 0.7%, not that it will do any good in this instance
5. Work together with regional countries to get asylum offered in first country
