Scientists drop ‘inappropriate and offensive’ names of moth and ant species
‘Gypsy moth’ and ‘gypsy ant’ to be rechristened over ‘ethnic slur’

I suppose the Black and Red Carpenter ants will have to go, as will the European Fire ant and, of course, the offensive Asiatic Garden Beetle. Can the Yellowjacket Bee and the German Cockroach survive these name changes?
