In a Crowded New York City, Should Newcomers ‘Go Back to Iowa’?
Go back to Iowa, go back to Africa: same difference.  This is a racist comment.  Resign.

This Is The Controversy Behind Oprah’s Latest Book Club Pick, ‘American Dirt’
Well, jeez, she might be a person of no colour. Even if she is a woman of colour, what right does she have to tell a story that she wasn't personally involved in. We don't want to read novels from anyone who has not experienced everything in the novel personally. Imagination is a useless trait for writing. It particularly does not allow a Puerto Rican to think she knows anything about Mexicans. As Bowles would say: only people like Esmeralda Bermudez can write about immigrants, and that is only about Hispanics from Central America. She would not have a clue about what immigrants from Asia or South America or Africa or Europe or Russia would feel. Right?

Nandy Asks Morgan 'How On Earth' He Would Know If Meghan Markle Suffered Racism
It's like Spielberg and the Colour Purple: white folks just don't get it, do they Ms Nandy? Only people of colour can comment on racism because no one is EVER racist about whites nd there are no people with ingrained prejudice against whites - it just doesn't happen. Oh, and no amount of imagination can ever close the gap, right

Pete Buttigieg’s Mayoral Staff Was Disproportionately White
But a new analysis by HuffPost of the executive staff Buttigieg surrounded himself with during eight years as mayor found that two-thirds were white
2/3rd of America is also white.   But okay, absolutely, ALL staff, whether as mayor or as candidate, MUST be 14% Black, 16% Hispanic, 47% White and 3% Asian. They should also be 50% men and 50% women. We don't care about merit as much as we care about quotas and having all staff, everywhere, reflect the proportion that people have in the population. (NBA and NFL excepted)
Incidentally, if 12% were not gay, does that mean Buttigieg is homophobic?

Taylor Swift’s father ‘bought armoured cars’ after singer spoke out against Trump
Sensible man: look what happened to Qasem Soleimani and Jamal Khashoggi.

I'm An Immigrant. Here's What You Don't See On '90 Day Fiancé.'
"In the end, ”90 Day Fiancé” is rooted in anti-fantasy; it entertains via self-righteous voyeurism into intimate catastrophes. It just seems cruel to condone a show that — however indirectly — portrays the stark reality of the immigrant story, complete with themes of xenophobia, desperation and hope, as trashy entertainment and little else."
Welcome to America, where most entertainment is like this: from dating shows to cooking shows, to apprentice shows: what would they be without the ritual humiliation and desperation.
