“Anyone who deliberately did not take all of the deductions the law allows them to avoid tax may criticise, all others are merely do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do hypocrites. Gotta ask, though, what the taxes would be that make it worth flying around at a couple of thousand quid an hourk
“Are we against Khat because it: 1) lets people get high legally 2) is the main source of funds for the mohareb group called Al Shaboob 3) far, far less than 1% of users might get recruited to the jihadi cause
I suspect it is 1) and that 2 and 3 are just excuses.
Being in love also tends to make people energetic, chatty and confident - not to mention a few sleepless nights. Should we ban that too?.

“Govt: The only important measure of your school is how the kids do on tests! Schools: Okay Govt: Why are you teaching to the tests? Schools: Um, you told us to? Govt: No, No. You are supposed to teach something else - make the kids better educated Schools: But then they won't do so well on your "only important measure" and our school will be penalised and our pay will be put at risk. Govt: So?”
You've heard of "Disgusted, Tunbridge Wells"? Well, I live in Holland Park and I've Had It. Up to here! An old curmudgeon, I rant and rave about things I read, see or hear in the News. Frequently sarcastic, irreverent and libertarian; often wrong - but never uncertain.
