A gentle, well-reasoned common-sense article.
But these kind of pieces will become both more common and more strident as the US has to - as Europe did before it - learn to take the second seat at the world's table. Also, we can expect more US-bashing, as Europe moves to 4th or lower, depending on what happens in India, South America and Russia. (Remember all of the anti-Old-World-Europe articles in first half of the 20th century, as Europe moved to #2? Have patience, they got gentler as Europe moved to #3.)
