Funny sport, college football. Everyone involved get paid, from the coaches (millions), to the trainers, to the equipment gofers, to the water boy - except the kids who put their bodies on the line every weekend.
It's not so much about how the kids are used by others - though they are - it is more a about the amount of money given to the users.
If it's just a game, then coaches should not make any more than professors. If it is a for-profit business of the University, why pay the least to those who do the most, and most dangerous, work? These kids are playing professional football - pay them accordingly!
You've heard of "Disgusted, Tunbridge Wells"? Well, I live in Holland Park and I've Had It. Up to here! An old curmudgeon, I rant and rave about things I read, see or hear in the News. Frequently sarcastic, irreverent and libertarian; often wrong - but never uncertain.
