- So basically these lying pseudo-journalists had the toys they stole taken out of their pram. Poetic justice, no?
On the ethics involved, ask yourself this: if someone from the opposing political party did this (posed as an MP's constituents and taped the conversation) , what would your reaction be? Outraged about dirty tricks for political gain? Then why not be outraged about the Telegraph dirty tricks, done for financial gain?
- Yeah, never let ministers decide anything they have an opinion about. Unless they are totally clueless about an issue, keep them away from it. Fortunately, this still leaves many ministers available on most issues.

- on Capital spendnig on science cut by 40% 2 days ago"...the seven bodies which distribute taxpayers' money to scientists..."
How many of the management and staff of these 7 bodies will take a 10% salary cut in response? Perhaps if we folded two of them into the other 5, we'd save most of the 10% cut.
- on University cuts 'a kick in the teeth' 2 days agoOh no, the government is refusing to pay money it does not have? They should just pile it on the deficit - after all, what are the children of the working class good for beyond paying back our debts?
- on Unions attack reading test for six-year-olds 3 days ago"...allowing successful headteachers to take over failing schools implied many teachers were not doing their job properly. "
It is more than an implication, it is a fact. Of course teachers' unions do not want anyone to know where kids start - for fear they may be measured on those students' improvement.
