What would we say if an agency operating in the US and critical of our government and private actions, turned out to be funded by North Korea, Iran, Al Qaeda or other jihadis. If we were honest, we would examine the criticisms for their validity but, in practice, we would probably scream for them to be shut down.
There is always a bit of ethnocentrism in political correctness. In your support, I recall the criticism of Speilberg doing "The Color Purple" while not being black. He replied" "I'm not an alien, either, but it seemed to work okay with ET.
