Letters: Cumbria shootings
Ah, the back-seat drivers, Monday morning quarterbacks and other 20-20 hindsighters are all out second-guessing the people who put their lives on the line in defense of the Cumbrian public. I would like to ask this of all those who question what the police did: What did you do about it at the time?
For example, John Shepard of Cockermouth Cumbria, if you knew that this killer could be stopped by closing the A595 at Calderbridge, why didn't you park your car across it? Or, if you are too far away, why didn't you ring someone in Calderbridge and get them to park their car across it?
"We cannot bring back the victims of this incident, but lessons should be learnt for future planning" by John Shepard, shouldn't they?
