Pig-tailed Peruvian girl becomes symbol of US undocumented after revealing her parents' status
Being born in America still means something, I hope. This kid is American by birth and by the sovereign law of the United States. Her parents, on the other hand, are deliberate violators of American laws. They should return to Peru and join the queue for legal immigration and the President of the United States, who swore to uphold our laws, should insist that they do so.
Since the wife of the President was inadvertently responsible for getting the kid to inform on her parents (something we didn't like when the Nazi's did it) it would be a nice gesture if the parents could have their illegal resident status expunged from the record, once they are back in Peru, and be allowed to apply for immigration with a clean slate.
